Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Performance & Finance Analyst to join our team in Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME), the Center of Excellence for the global downstream portfolio.

Your primary role as a Performance & Finance Analyst, is analyzing and evaluating the financial and operational performance of the downstream assets, including refineries and petrochemical plants. Your insights and recommendations will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall operational and financial performance of downstream assets and supporting them in reaching their full potential. This position requires a deep understanding of the downstream oil & gas industry, performance management and benchmarking, and strong analytical skills in operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design standardized methodologies to collect, maintain, analyze, and present assets’ operational and financial performance data.
  • Design key performance indicators (KPIs) to track assets operational and financial performance.
  • Analyze and evaluate the financial and operational performance of downstream assets (e.g., turnarounds performance, maintenance costs).
  • Benchmark assets’ performance against industry leaders as well as other downstream assets, utilizing standard Oil & Gas performance benchmarks (e.g., Solomon benchmarks preferred) and internal performance data.
  • Create and maintain models for the reporting of financial and operational results and conduct regular full potential assessments and gap studies of downstream assets utilizing benchmarking data, and estimate gained financial value from improvement.
  • Prepare and present portfolio performance reports and presentations, highlighting key findings and recommendations for GME leadership review.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify portfolio optimization opportunities and develop strategies/initiatives to address them.
  • Participate in the development of assets performance dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Stay abreast of global and regional O&G industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact assets performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • +5 years of experience in performance management, data analysis or a related role within the downstream oil & gas industry.
  • Solid experience in analyzing and interpreting complex operational and financial data from large Oil & Gas downstream assets.
  • Solid experience with Oil & Gas benchmarking and performance management frameworks, such as Solomon or RAM.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for financial and operational decision-making.
  • Experience working with data analysis tools and performance metrics, as well as presentation and reporting tools (e.g., MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present findings to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong understanding of downstream oil & gas operations, including refining and petrochemicals.
  • Certifications such as Cost Professional (CCP), or similar are preferred.
  • Demonstrate understanding that operations are crucial for providing meaningful cost optimization and better cost structure and allocation.
  • Experience in strategic cost management, involving the ability to strategically evaluate and manage costs to align with company long term goals.
