Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled professional with a strong background in SQL Server database administration
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, implementing necessary optimization techniques.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members on SQL Server best practices.
Skills and Knowledge
SQL Agent Jobs Maintenance
SSIS Management
SSIS package failures
Execution performance monitoring
Manage job history retention and cleanup of old logs
Document job dependencies and execution order
General SQL Server Maintenance
For EO environment, coordinate the security updates and patches with EO team.
Manage disk space for database, logs and backups
Optimize index fragmentation
Monitor SQL Server performance
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
Monitor Always On Availability Groups/ Failover Cluster Instances
Check replication status
Regular failover testing
Backups are tested and restorable
SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) Maintenance
SSRS permission and security
Data source connections
Changes to current report layout or logic
New report development
SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) – Qdoba has Tabular mode installation of SSAS
Monitor jobs related to refreshing cubes
SSAS role-based access
Troubleshoot any data refresh failures
Security
Server and DB permissions, service accounts and credentials management.
