Amadeus Reservations is the beating heart of many Amadeus products. We handle critical steps in trip reservations including booking, ticketing, management of traveler records used by both by Airlines and Distribution actors. We are undergoing key new projects to modernize, bringing Reservations into the cloud and clustering the platform and we are growing by +25% in 2022 with the creation of a new team in Bogota that will support customers in the Americas region.

Summary of the role:

  • As a QA Engineer, you must ensure that Amadeus products are delivered according to customers’ expectations. He/she validates and signs-off that new features are working as designed while checking that existing ones still work correctly. He/she works together with other engineering roles to, together, enrich the customer experience. He/she contributes to any continuous improvement efforts, in line with the Amadeus standards
  • The main mission will be to integrate an agile and transversal team (DEV, PDA, QA and DEVOPS) to develop brand new features to enhance Reservation capabilities.
  • During this journey you will have the responsibility to perform professional and standardized validation of this core Amadeus application. You will analyse and review functional specifications, design test cases and turn them into a blend of manual and automated scripts. You will perform the test plan execution and be an active part of the GO/NO GO decision.
  • You will interact with your peers as well as with your product definition and software development counterparts. In a continuous improvement spirit, you will contribute to the definition, implementation and rollout of new quality processes and actively participate in the RES QA community.

In this role you’ll:

  • Be responsible of unit and component testing
  • Monitor applications and product health
  • Participate to Incident and problem prioritization, investigation, and fixing
  • Research, evaluate and suggest technical and process-related improvements.

About the ideal candidate:

  • Education: University degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Business Understanding:
    • Strong appetite for quality engineering role
    • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Skills:
    • Computing:
      • Must: Postman/SoapUI/RestAssured API testing, API Automation, basic Linux command knowledge, cross-browser and device testing, defect tracking system (Rally preferred)
      • Preferred: Selenium, Swagger/OpenAPI, Git/BitBucket.
      • Must: XML, JSON, SQL basics (MySQL and Oracle preferred)
      • Preferred: Core Java basics, Groovy
    • Language: Professional spoken and written English required

    • Other:
      • Good level of autonomy in QA aspects
      • Interest in technical projects
      • The capability to work in a multicultural, global environment
      • Good relational skills and team spirit
      • Keen at learning new technologies: curiosity and openness are a must
      • Great problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and solve issues before they evolve into big incidents
      • Embracing agile methodologies and SAFe
